SALISBURY, NC, May 30, 2024 — Amrep, a leading provider of refuse collection vehicles for more than 50 years, today announced the major expansion of its North Carolina-based facility in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
The company, which is part of the Wastequip® family of brands, opened the original Salisbury, North Carolina, facility in 2018, expanding its manufacturing footprint to the East Coast from its headquarters in Ontario, California. The new 80,000-square-foot campus enables the local production of Automated Side Loaders (ASLs), Front Load and Rear Load refuse collection vehicles, serving as a key distribution point for national, municipal and regional customers. Additionally, its proximity to an alternate fuel provider enables Amrep to provide turnkey solutions for natural gas trucks.

The new campus, expected to be fully operational in January 2026, will add 170 local jobs and has an estimated annual capacity of 800 units to accommodate both existing and new customer needs.
